When it comes to shopping for wax melts, the scent and aroma shouldn’t be the only factor to consider. Melts can be made out of a variety of different waxes, with each wax having different properties that affect the performance. I use 100% soy wax for all of my products and that’s just one of the secrets that sets my products apart from the rest!
I chose to work with soy because it is a natural product, made from the oil of the soy beans. The beans are processed and manufactured into flakes before they're pressed to extract the oil. Next, a process called hydrogenation changes fatty acids from unsaturated to saturated, altering the melting point, making it solid when cooler, it is then perfect for creating wax melts without the need for paraffin. The leftover husks from the process are not wasted, they are used as nutritious animal feed. The animals then help to fertilise the soybean fields.
Soy wax is made from environmentally friendly, renewable resources; whereas classic paraffin wax is made from petroleum and is non-renewable. Not only are there sustainable advantages to choosing soy over a different type of candle wax, but soy wax also burns slower than paraffin wax, meaning you get a product that lasts longer. Another reason to choose soy is the fact that it is an excellent fragrance carrier that does not require chemical amplifiers. The result is a well-balanced, true to scent product.
It is vital to de-stress and unwind in today's busy modern world and we are all becoming more and more aware of self-care and our wellbeing. Enjoying soy wax products is great way to help you relax peacefully in your home. In summary, soy wax is natural, biodegradable and renewable. It is excellent to work with, clean burning and holds lots of fragrance. It is also vegan friendly and cruelty free. That is why I love soy wax.
