You can light candles, again and again, to spread fragrances around your home. But can you do the same thing with wax melts? Can you burn them and melt them again and again? How many times can you use a piece of wax melt?

First of all, it’s important to understand how wax melts are different from candles. This is why their use and burn time also differs. Even though they are both made with scented wax, the wax in candles melts very slowly and often never entirely melt. Those big candle jars won’t melt the whole wax inside them.

If you have wax cubes, break off a piece (around 1 oz) and put it in the warmer. Don't use more than one cube at once. If you have smaller melts or scent sational wax melt bars, you can use 1-3 pieces, depending on how strong you want the scent to be.

Technically, the wax melt itself can last for a long time, but it’s actually the fragrance that has a time limit. Once the fragrance has completely dissipated into the air, you won’t smell anything on melting the wax. 

So generally speaking, wax melts last anywhere from four hours to 12 hours. 

How Many Times Can I Use Wax Melts?

You can use wax melts for as long as they produce fragrance. Whilst you can melt them again as they solidify on cooling down, you may not always get the fragrance out of them if they have been used for long. 

How Many Times Can You Burn Wax Melt?

It`s really up to you. We recommend that our Wax Melts can be remelted 8/9 times or until the fragrance burns off and there is no aroma at all.

How Long Do Wax Melts Burn For?

If you only melted the wax melts for an hour or two, you can easily use it again, and they’ll produce the remaining scent. It’s not necessary to keep the wax melts melting. So, say, if you only need to use them in the bathroom to freshen up the air, you can just melt them for half an hour to an hour and use them again when needed. 

Once the fragrance has dissipated completely, you can still warm the wax, but it won’t give out those lovely scents. It’s then time to remove the wax and replace it with new pieces. 

How to Make Wax Melts Last Longer?

You can ensure you get the most out of your wax melts, including burn time, by purchasing quality wax melts. Soy wax usually melts faster, but it lasts longer than paraffin wax in terms of fragrance capacity. In simpler words, it packs in more scent, so the wax melts last longer. 

Secondly, you can place more wax melts in the wax melter to enhance the effect. That way, a single melting session will release intense scents for long, so you won’t have to clean out the wax and replace it at least for the day.
